What should I do if my water heater is leaking from the top?

If water is leaking from the top, shut it down and isolate water right away. Turn off power (breaker for electric, set gas control to off or pilot), close the cold-water shutoff valve, and dry the top to spot the source. Look for drips at the inlet/outlet fittings, the TPR valve, the anode-rod port, or venting. Do not use hot water until a technician inspects it. We provide 24/7 emergency, same-day water heater repair with flat-rate pricing across the Denver area.
